Supporting Our Community Through Charitable Events andActivities

At Fargo Firefighters Local 642, we take pride in turning our commitment to community engagement into action. Throughout the year, our members participate in a variety of charitable events — from icy plunges to hockey games and fashion shows — all to give back to the community we’re honored to serve.

Special Olympics ND Polar Plunge

In partnership with the Law Enforcement Torch Run, our members raise funds from friends, family, and supporters to earn their spot among the brave souls taking an icy dip for a great cause. It’s all “freezin’ for a reason” in support of Special Olympics North Dakota!

MDA Summer Camp

Firefighters from across the region come together for “Firefighter Day” at MDASummer Camp, volunteering their time to connect with campers, share their experiences, and serve lunch. From ziplining and floor hockey to fishing and archery, it’s a day full of fun, laughter, and lasting memories for every one involved.

MDA Fill the Boot

Each year, our members take to the streets for the Muscular DystrophyAssociation’s Fill the Boot campaign, raising critical funds that support treatments, therapies, and research. These donations help empower individuals living with muscular dystrophy to live stronger, more independent lives.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Our members proudly ring the bell for the Salvation Army to help fund vital year-round programs — including disaster relief, social services, anti-human trafficking efforts, homeless shelters, children’s programs, and rehabilitation services. Every ring makes a difference.

Hometown Heroes Hockey Game

Firefighters lace up against local law enforcement in this friendly annual showdown to support public safety organizations across the Red River Valley. One hundred percent of proceeds go directly toward lifesaving equipment, training, and supplies — such as AEDs, CPR systems, hoses, and gas monitors.Funding requests are reviewed by a committee and awarded based on community need.

The Christmas Gift Fashion Show

Each holiday season, our members hit the runway for the annual Christmas GiftFashion Show, raising funds to make holiday dreams come true for local families in need. It’s one of our favorite ways to spread cheer and celebrate the spirit of giving.
